The MEI Workbench provides comprehensive administrative capabilities within the MEISTRO solution, offering an advanced suite of functions tailored specifically for Administrators and privileged users responsible for managing, configuring, and overseeing the operational effectiveness of their subscribed solutions and services. It is designed to enable deeper, more sophisticated control than the MEI Portal, while sharing the ability to apply unique client branding and leveraging a detailed Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) framework with expanded granularity.
Administrators utilize the MEI Workbench to create, manage, and monitor “Projects”—structured sets of tasks, configurations, or operational initiatives—essential to effectively implementing and maintaining facility automation, occupancy management, and energy optimization strategies. Through this workbench, users have robust administrative capabilities, including detailed configuration, setup, and ongoing management of subscribed “Services,” encompassing occupancy sensing, HVAC automation adhering to ASHRAE Guideline 36, real-time environmental controls (temperature, humidity, CO₂ levels), energy monitoring and optimization, advanced analytics, compliance reporting (ASHRAE 90.1, ISO 16484, NEC 2023 standards), and more.
The MEI Workbench extends significantly beyond the capabilities of the MEI Portal, empowering administrators with functions such as:
- Project lifecycle management, including detailed setup, resource allocation, tracking, and archiving.
- Granular configuration of sensor parameters, automated HVAC controls, and CO₂ ventilation systems.
- Advanced analytics and reporting capabilities, providing detailed insights into occupancy trends, energy use intensity (EUI), and environmental comfort metrics.
- Real-time access and control over reservable space scheduling and resource allocation, coupled with enhanced monitoring.
- Administration and customization of user roles, permissions, and access policies through an extensive and detailed RBAC system, ensuring secure, role-specific access.
- Centralized oversight of integration management with external systems, distinct from but interoperable via the MEI Connector.
